❄ I just wanna keep on waiting underneath the mistletoe ... [sisi voice] A Jingle Mingle

Wherever you are, whoever you are, you'll likely find yourself blinking one moment and teleporting in a flurry of snowflakes the next. Luckily for you, there's no murder this time! (Probably.)
Rather, you'll hear Christmas carols aplenty as you approach a winter castle, snow lightly falling and various paths leading to gardens filled with still-blooming flowers (how.) and lit topiary displays.
Upon entering the castle, you'll find it's brightly lit and decorated...welcome to the party! Frost lightly dusts the walls and some nearby surfaces and guests will find there are halls and floors aplenty to explore. There are rooms filled with plush chairs and fireplaces for those looking for something cozier, rooms filled with all kinds of games and toys, and naturally there's a large ballroom prime for dancing. Spread through you'll find tables of snacks, full-course meals, drinks, desserts, and even champagne towers. Are you looking for something specific? Simply ask a member of the staff. Watch your step though! Their assistants really are doing their best to help, and the jingling bell may be too faint to hear if you aren't paying attention.
It seems as though you've all been invited to a wonderful holiday party for no reason at all...but there is one thing amiss...or, should I say...amistletoe?
Pinned up on every doorway is a sprig of fresh mistletoe, decorated with bright red bows and dustings of frost. And sure, perhaps it's easy just to avoid the doorways if you want to be a spoilsport. But should you avoid it for too long, it will seem as though the mistletoe is following you, almost as if some asshole is hiding out and purposefully trailing behind to keep it dangling over your head.
Oh. And did I mention you can't leave the castle grounds until you play along? Pucker up.

[he has managed to balance the plates enough he can break off a piece of dessert with his fingers to eat it. mistletoe looms ominously in the distance.]
I wouldn't compare anything to what Dick and I are doing. It's a whole mess and even I don't understand all of it to be honest.

she's munching her own desserts, slowly lessening how many plates she's holding and aggressively not perceiving the mistletoe. never heard of mistletoe. never seen it. what is mistletoe. ]
Don't you... Have to be the ones to understand it, though...?
no subject
Well...do you understand everything your boss tells you?

I guess I don't always have a solution right away. But most of our tasks are pretty straight-forward.
Maybe that's because we don't have anyone trying to cause an apocalypse, though? We don't even have very much crime. Everyone just has the dusk sea to worry about.
[ after finishing a final creampuff she looks at junpei for one more amused moment - then takes the dirty dishes from him to set on the table. why did he play along with that. why did he let her do that for so long. ]
no subject
Thanks. Guess we can leave those for whoever's running this thing.

[ she just kind of - brushes past that. every world has its own problems, after all. she laughs lightly. ]
They probably expected everyone to leave a mess. [ that's just how parties are. ] But I wonder why they set all this up to begin with.

If we were going the more optimistic route, suppose we could say that someone really wanted us to have a nice time after everything. But since we don't know who started this, that's a little harder. Everything seems normal though...people aren't even freaking out yet.
no subject
Well - they're not panicking, at least. [ she thinks some of the things going on here could qualify as freaking out. ]
They're just... [ --oh no, people are kissing in here? and she already started her sentence. this kind of situation makes it very difficult to not perceive, and she does not make a smooth recovery at all. she just stops talking mid-sentence. ]
no subject
...ah. So it's that kind of party. [you know this is actually probably a little traumatizing for thots but that's fine.]

Um... Well, if we got forced to eat it, it could poison us.
no subject
I dunno if we're gonna be forced to eat it. Sounds pretty gross. [he says that, but he does not realize that there is now a piece of mistletoe floating on its own and looming in the background behind him.]
no subject
[ she looks... very distracted by it. this is. this is fine. ]
I wonder if I could take some home to use as an ingredient...

[ wehehe ]
no subject
Annnd just how many poison bombs have you made before?
no subject

no subject
... anyway ]
Oh, very easy. The real problem is making sure you don't poison yourself after throwing the bomb.
no subject
You could make it like a grenade? Pull the pin and throw it so there's enough time to head for cover before it explodes.
no subject
That's a good idea.
[ if not a little too practical for her tastes? ]
Or maybe I could make an antidote explosion to use right after!
