Wherever you are, whoever you are, you'll likely find yourself blinking one moment and teleporting in a flurry of snowflakes the next. Luckily for you, there's no murder this time! (Probably.)

Rather, you'll hear Christmas carols aplenty as you approach a winter castle, snow lightly falling and various paths leading to gardens filled with still-blooming flowers (how.) and lit topiary displays.

Upon entering the castle, you'll find it's brightly lit and decorated...welcome to the party! Frost lightly dusts the walls and some nearby surfaces and guests will find there are halls and floors aplenty to explore. There are rooms filled with plush chairs and fireplaces for those looking for something cozier, rooms filled with all kinds of games and toys, and naturally there's a large ballroom prime for dancing. Spread through you'll find tables of snacks, full-course meals, drinks, desserts, and even champagne towers. Are you looking for something specific? Simply ask a member of the staff. Watch your step though! Their assistants really are doing their best to help, and the jingling bell may be too faint to hear if you aren't paying attention.

It seems as though you've all been invited to a wonderful holiday party for no reason at all...but there is one thing amiss...or, should I say...amistletoe?

Pinned up on every doorway is a sprig of fresh mistletoe, decorated with bright red bows and dustings of frost. And sure, perhaps it's easy just to avoid the doorways if you want to be a spoilsport. But should you avoid it for too long, it will seem as though the mistletoe is following you, almost as if some asshole is hiding out and purposefully trailing behind to keep it dangling over your head.

Oh. And did I mention you can't leave the castle grounds until you play along? Pucker up.

What? What happened? [there's nothing there? but he's immediately on the defense.] Are you okay?

[ she reaches her hand out in front of her; it doesn't go very far before it lays flat like it's resting against a solid surface. her brow furrows as she turns back to roxas, unsurprised to see him ready to leap into action for her sake. she doesn't feel like she needs to go that far herself just yet, though. ]

[he has half a mind to summon his keyblades to fight, especially when she mentions a barrier. instead though he comes to join her and kind of pokes and prods at said-barrier.]

If that's there, then...we just have to figure out a way to break it, right? Or find what's causing it. That wasn't there before was it?

[ recon time!! xion takes a moment to try and feel out the limitations of the barrier... she finds it's more or less a circular area, maybe fifteen feet in diameter... twenty at most? (what the fuck is a measurement) either way, there's a little bit of wiggle room, but not much. ]

Mm... if only you still had your powers as Sol. They might have come in handy for something like this?

Maybe. Those powers allowed me to create anything and travel places but that would've meant leaving you behind. I don't really like that option so much.

[he's knocking on the barrier again. hewwo?

neither moron has noticed that the mistletoe's floated closer.]

Does your magic still work? Maybe we can break it that way. [all of their powers should be back, so like. roxas is all for cheating regardless.]

[ they sure have not! but after giving roxas a tiny shoulder bump when he mentions not wanting to leave her... she nods with some newfound determination. ]

[the barrier ripples! but it does not shatter and the keyblade bounces off of it. they might hear a distant "ow?" from somewhere outside of the barrier but hm. roxas is immediately squinting once more though.]

Okay so...maybe if we both hit it it'll give up. [which means he's summoning both keyblades.] Ready to try again?

[ on the one hand, she is vaguely concerned about that exclamation of pain? but... on the other... she is on a Mission. she nods easily enough at roxas's suggestion, getting back into a battle stance at his cue. ]

Yeah. We'll do this together!

[ ... i'm going to assume three keyblade whacks will cause a louder "ow" to come from somewhere. just fuckin bomb this thread with jack ok it's our meme thread and we can do whatever we want ]

[jack is a whimsical fuck and he's trying to dodge because yeah, there are so many angry keys suddenly? they'll see a ripple of frost dust the invisible barrier though as if someone's zipping past.]

"Haven't you heard of playing by the rules?"

[jack won't show himself, but there's an amused tone when he says it. roxas, meanwhile, adjusts his keyblades as if to smack them against the ceiling of their barrier.]
