Summer Festival in the MGU

Wherever you are, whoever you are, one minute you’re at home minding your own business and the next you’ll see a shower of sparkles before you blink and find yourself teleported elsewhere.
The elsewhere, it seems, is an open grounds lined with stalls, pathways and gardens. Lanterns light up the pathways in soft glowing oranges and pinks, and even though it’s evening the weather is warm and enjoyable for a fun summer festival.
As you set off to explore, you’ll find that there are countless stalls with every type of treat you can imagine from a variety of cultures (including some from your own home worlds, strangely), all of which smell delicious and enticing. There are other stalls available with different carnival games as well. Go ahead and give it your all! Win a prize for that special someone, or just keep trying out of sheer stubbornness. Other stalls seem to be selling wares such as clothing, household items, flowers, and other things that can be given away as gifts. It seems that every time you look around, a new stall opens, almost as if this festival is responding to your every wish.
Speaking of wishes, there’s a small cluster of bamboo trees nearby as well, tables set up with baskets of arts and crafts supplies to write your wishes on the colorful paper and tie them to a branch. It’s a sweet thought, no?
And of course, what’s a festival without fireworks? Every now and then fireworks will light up the night sky, bursts of color in fun shapes such as stars, hearts, faces of people you know, whatever! Sparklers and bubble wands can also be found to play with throughout the evening near the viewing gardens. Flowers bloom and cover the area, though the paths lead to several small alcove-like areas and gazebos for those of you who wish to have a little romantic privacy. No matter where you are though, you’ll always be able to see the starry night sky.
Do try to play along and enjoy yourself for the evening. It’s only when the last firework bursts several hours later that you can actually leave anyway. Have fun!
[ooc: you know the drill, past mg characters from any of our past games, please don't make me list them again but go nuts.]

[She picks one, he'll pick the next!]
no subject
[and she'll just ask whoever's running the stall for the most expensive baijiu they've got, predictably.]
no subject
[He'll get some meat and veggie skewers for them?? Does that work]
no subject
[she grins, accepts a skewer, and pours them some drinks, then lifts her cup.]
Ganbei!
no subject
Oh, very smooth! I'm a little surprised.
[He was expecting something more, ah... rustic, let's say... from this festival]
no subject
[she seems pleased! haha.]
no subject
[But he appreciates it nonetheless!!]
no subject
Hmm, what should we drink next?
[
her glass is empty.]
no subject
[he says this but he’s just joking; it’s a quick matter to finish off his own drink and set the glass down before they resume their wandering. Nom nom, skewers.]
Let’s see… maybe this one?
[Wandering over to a stall that looks like it has fancy modern-world style colorful booze… he’s gonna be disappointed when he learns they’re like 2% alcohol]
no subject
[
i hope they enjoy their mike's hard lemonade
sqx wrinkles her nose]
...ahaha, isn't this just juice?
no subject
frowns at the stall worker]
Are you sure this is alcohol?
no subject
"of course it's alcohol! you must not have a very refined palate if you can't tell!"
sqx frowns.]
What's this? You're speaking to "The Young Lord Who Poured Wine," you know? I have a better palate for alcohol than anyone in any world. Isn't it more likely that you're simply serving us watered-down drinks?
no subject
Trying to dupe the gods, how bold.
[the actual audacity of him to say this,]
no subject
this poor alcohol salesman is displeased.
"this is high quality alcohol! it's--"]
It tastes like juice. I could probably drink ten of these and it wouldn't make me even a little bit buzzed! Come on, let's try something else.
no subject
Hold on, now, maybe the gentleman can redeem himself. [A sharp grin as he leans on the counter, propping his chin in his hand.] How about a wager, comrade? You give us five shots of your top shelf, and if we're still standing by the end of it, we get to keep the whole bottle. How's that?
[The fact that almost everyone of my threads has turned into harassing stall owners somehow makes me so tired
WHY IS HE EVEN DOING THIS WHAT IS HE GONNA DO WITH SHITTY BOOZE]
no subject
"you're on!"
he grabs them his most expensive alcohol, pours them five shots each, and looks at them expectantly.
sqx swipes hers and downs the shots immediately.]
no subject
When they're both done, he does a little flourish and a bow.
Ta-daaaaa.]
no subject
shi qingxuan laughs and tucks it under her arm.]
Thank you, sir! [he grumbles. she pats childe's back with her other hand.] Good work. Let's go find something a little stronger to supplement this.
no subject
Better luck next time, comrade!
[OFF THEY GO WITH THEIR CHEAP BOOZE]
I suppose that's a sign not to bother with anything colorful.
no subject
[not everyone has as high an alcohol tolerance as them, though...]
no subject
[He mostly stuck to what he knew and he didn't drink as much as she did]
no subject
There were! ...there was a lot of strange alcohol there, actually. Even a bottle that had a scorpion in it!
no subject
[He's never seen a scorpion in his life]
no subject
