Summer Festival in the MGU

Wherever you are, whoever you are, one minute you’re at home minding your own business and the next you’ll see a shower of sparkles before you blink and find yourself teleported elsewhere.

The elsewhere, it seems, is an open grounds lined with stalls, pathways and gardens. Lanterns light up the pathways in soft glowing oranges and pinks, and even though it’s evening the weather is warm and enjoyable for a fun summer festival.

As you set off to explore, you’ll find that there are countless stalls with every type of treat you can imagine from a variety of cultures (including some from your own home worlds, strangely), all of which smell delicious and enticing. There are other stalls available with different carnival games as well. Go ahead and give it your all! Win a prize for that special someone, or just keep trying out of sheer stubbornness. Other stalls seem to be selling wares such as clothing, household items, flowers, and other things that can be given away as gifts. It seems that every time you look around, a new stall opens, almost as if this festival is responding to your every wish.

Speaking of wishes, there’s a small cluster of bamboo trees nearby as well, tables set up with baskets of arts and crafts supplies to write your wishes on the colorful paper and tie them to a branch. It’s a sweet thought, no?

And of course, what’s a festival without fireworks? Every now and then fireworks will light up the night sky, bursts of color in fun shapes such as stars, hearts, faces of people you know, whatever! Sparklers and bubble wands can also be found to play with throughout the evening near the viewing gardens. Flowers bloom and cover the area, though the paths lead to several small alcove-like areas and gazebos for those of you who wish to have a little romantic privacy. No matter where you are though, you’ll always be able to see the starry night sky.

Do try to play along and enjoy yourself for the evening. It’s only when the last firework bursts several hours later that you can actually leave anyway. Have fun!

[ Pulling fork back and leaning in to kiss him instead. Then he'll give him his treat. ]

Have you ever been on rides?

[ Asking the rider that ]

[See! THIS IS WHAT HE'S TALKING ABOUT. NOM NOM.]

Um. No? At least, not the ones here...

[chosenwang]

[ It's not fair that his heart is still moved deeply by being told those words. There's a pause there before he clears his throat and looks away. ]

I know and I'm still lucky for it.

[ He'll smile. ]

Looks like it'll be another first for us both then. I didn't get much of a chance to do this kind of thing before.

Really? Um. Let's finish this and....I guess we can try it.

[ Giving him another quick kiss. ]

[ Binch. Scooping up more food to offer it to his boyfriend ]

I did spot a stall you might be interested in. It had a bunch of masks.

[ If he still needs to be a little hidden. ]

[duranduel]

Yeah. [And a kiss back. It tastes sweet.] Despite everything.

[Om nom nom.]

Oh? Masks? That sounds cool. What kind of masks do they have?

[chosenwang]

[ Breathing out a sigh. He could do this all night, but do have to make the most of this surprise little festival. ]

[ He'll sneak a bite of it for himself, but give the rest to Mandi. ]

Ones from different anime shows, demons, normal ones, and foxes.

[duranduel]

[He smiles fondly at that, cheeks tinged red.]

Anime shows? So I guess you know those...how about you choose one for me? I think a fox one would suit you.

[chosenwang]

[ Time to give him a lingering kiss for that. ]

Are you sure you want me to pick? I might put you in something clear so I can keep seeing your face.

[duranduel]

[He's reaching forward to thread a hand through his hair, kissing him on the forehead.]

Well, I wouldn't go that far...what's the point of a mask, then?

[chosenwang]

[ He'll balance the plate on the rail beside him before he hooks an arm around Mandi. Closing his eyes at the kiss. ]

That is true, and it might not be good to share your expressions anyways. They have some masks from sentai series. I think you might enjoy that.

[ Would Mandi be into super sentai? ]

[duranduel]

[He leans against him, nestling his head into the crook of his neck.]

[ If they wind up never doing anything it's Mandi's fault. Turning his head to press a kiss against him. ]

A super hero group that wear masks and costumes. They usually fight with giant robots or vehicles.

[duranduel]

Oh, wow....that sounds really cool, actually.

[THEY REALLY JUST KEEP DOING THIS]

I'm guessin' you like those shows. I could see you as a superhero.

We can take the train to Kon's world once things are good there. I'm pretty sure Sentai series exist there.

[ They can watch a few ]

I used to watch them when I was little. I even had a few toys.

[duranduel]

You had toys?

[A light laugh.]

That's kinda cute, actually.

[ He's not going to share that he may have even owned a cape at some point. ]

What about your childhood? Was that when you heard all about Hector?

Yeah. My father read the Iliad to me when I was young. That's when I learned all about him.

[chosenwang]

[ at least he isn't a simp. ]

Did you ever run around pretending to be him back then?

[And at that question, he nods.]

[ Shifting his arm up to play with the hair on the back of Mandi's neck. ]

That's pretty cute. Tell me about your childhood. What did you do for fun?

[It tickles! He lets his shoulders raise a little at the touch.]

Mostly played with my siblings, played chess, rode horses...honestly, becoming someone who would eventually become a king wasn't all fun and games, sadly. Even as a kid.
