Spring is in the air, or at least it is here. Regardless of where you may have been before, you'll hear the the sound of jaunty music playing ahead of you as you step into the sun.
Welcome...to the happiest place on Earth.
Everywhere around you seems to brighten and reach out to you, the sight of large, colorful structures and flashing lights, the sound of playful music and people laughing, the scent of delicious sweet and savory treats and the sudden weight in your pocket of a cell phone. Opening it, you'll find a special message:
To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.
Be sure to @ mmc to connect with others as you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
You will find what appears to be a forum available to you filled with names you may or may not recognize. Try putting a message out there and seeing who responds!
For those of you who are more hands on, the world is your oyster and the park is your playground. The lines to wait for the rides are fairly short, and all around you there's plenty of shops and kiosks for food, drinks, and souvenears. Didn't bring any money? That's alright. It seems that everything is free for today and today only! (And yes, that includes the alcohol at various establishments.)
Unlike the Christmas party some of you may have attended last winter, it seems there isn't any sort of pranking or tomfoolery happening in the park today. There are several lands to explore, along with several other parks and attractions attached. You may not have to kiss someone in order to leave...
...but it does seem as though the gates are locked for the next several hours. On occasion, you may feel a pair of ghostly hands push you forward toward that ride you're hesitating to board or tempting you with a sugary-sweet churro. You may find that taking a loop on It's a Small World will leave the song stuck in your head for several hours while riding something like Space Mountain will leave you feeling more bold than usual. Perhaps a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust will set you free? Oh well. All you can do now is relax, have fun, and wait for the fireworks spectacular to signal the end of the evening.
[ooc: it's once again mgcu mingle time, but there's a twist! this mingle is open to characters from the following:
however. you may also bring special guests in the form of characters you considered playing in previous games or characters you are anticipating playing in the future. have fun mingling with strangers!]

[ here kon is, standing with... quite a few pamphlets, actually? wearing a hat instead of ears over his messy hair while he looks through everything. ]
Man, how do they expect you to pick just one food tour when they've got so many..? I guess this is why people book these trips for multiple days, usually, but still. [ he tsks softly, before pulling up the mickey phone. ] Maybe the Be Our Guest experience would be good to start with...
[ the grey stuff is, admittedly, delicious. but it is also squishy. hm. ]
II. ride facts with a nerd
[ so, you're trying to decide what ride to go on, are you?
good news, kon is here, and he still knows a lot about a lot. and he's more than willing to talk about it while you go over what ride to get on next. ] Did you know that the orange teacups are the fastest ones at the Mad Tea Party? Apparently the ones with hearts are the slower ones. So if you want to go there, you can actually pick the speed you go at.
Not like it's Test Track fast, though. That's the fastest ride that Disney's had, something like 65 MPH, 104 KPH, I think?
III. teacup roulette..2!
[ wildcard!! drag him to a ride, or across the parks, or ask him for random trivia, or whatever you fancy ]

What's soundin' good?

Everything is normally arm-and-leg expensive, but everything's free right now, so it'd be stupid to pass some of the pricier ones up. Delicious Disney, maybe... They pick a theme and then serve a full course meal based off of that.
But Cinderella's Royal Table and Be Our Guest are both fine dining experiences that have some pretty decent choices for the courses, too.

He'd just suggest to steal, but if it's free, all the better.]
You're here all day ain't ya? Could hit up at least two. Which one has the most meat?
no subject
Both the Royal Castle and Be Our Guest menus have meats and cheese for appetizers, along with chicken, pork, and beef entrees... [ damn the royal castle's pork tenderloin with pork belly sounds good on its current menu what the fuck ] Not sure what the Delicious Disney menu theme is but I imagine they'd have meat on the menu, too.

Which way to the Castle?
no subject
... thataway. I can grab a reservation on the way so that we can get seated faster, too.

With the phone?

Lines are usually out the ass, but I think whatever liminal space we've found ourselves in right now has made 'em shorter.

Manwol takes Kon's arm as she peers at a pamphlet he's holding.]
We can just do all of them at the same time, can't we?
[manwol no]

They're all in different places, boss. [ he leans his weight more towards her when she takes his arm, looking at the different menus and information he's gathered. ] But timed right, could probably hit up a bunch of the fancier ones one after the other if we were really ambitious about it.

help i forgot all but like one of my icons are her in costume.]
Is there anything you don't know?
no subject
he gives her a flash of a grin ]
I like knowing a lot about as much as possible, but, yeah, there probably is.

[she crosses her arms]
What's the oldest ride here?
no subject
Since this place is a combination of Disneyland and Disney World, from all the rides and attractions, it'd probably be Prince Charming's Regal Carrousel. It actually pre-dates the park opening by nearly 60 years, I think.
no subject
...they built it that many years before there was even a park? What for?

History is full of weird shit.
no subject
[weird, indeed!]
I guess I never really thought about how old some of these rides are before.

Okay, so. Not really haunted? The ghosts aren't real and are just various tricks used to tell a story that fits with the location, so no spirits are actually trapped here and terrorizing visitors that decide to stop in for a light trespassing.
Basically you sit in a little car that sits one to three people comfortably, and it takes you through the mansion, which is bigger than it looks, and the story is told around you through the environment.

[That part makes sense, but...]
But why isn't anyone scared of the malevolent force in there? Do none of them feel it? There's so many people, at least a couple of them should be mages right?
