Spring is in the air, or at least it is here. Regardless of where you may have been before, you'll hear the the sound of jaunty music playing ahead of you as you step into the sun.

Welcome...to the happiest place on Earth.

Everywhere around you seems to brighten and reach out to you, the sight of large, colorful structures and flashing lights, the sound of playful music and people laughing, the scent of delicious sweet and savory treats and the sudden weight in your pocket of a cell phone. Opening it, you'll find a special message:

To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.

You will find what appears to be a forum available to you filled with names you may or may not recognize. Try putting a message out there and seeing who responds!

For those of you who are more hands on, the world is your oyster and the park is your playground. The lines to wait for the rides are fairly short, and all around you there's plenty of shops and kiosks for food, drinks, and souvenears. Didn't bring any money? That's alright. It seems that everything is free for today and today only! (And yes, that includes the alcohol at various establishments.)

Unlike the Christmas party some of you may have attended last winter, it seems there isn't any sort of pranking or tomfoolery happening in the park today. There are several lands to explore, along with several other parks and attractions attached. You may not have to kiss someone in order to leave...

...but it does seem as though the gates are locked for the next several hours. On occasion, you may feel a pair of ghostly hands push you forward toward that ride you're hesitating to board or tempting you with a sugary-sweet churro. You may find that taking a loop on It's a Small World will leave the song stuck in your head for several hours while riding something like Space Mountain will leave you feeling more bold than usual. Perhaps a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust will set you free? Oh well. All you can do now is relax, have fun, and wait for the fireworks spectacular to signal the end of the evening.

I. ridesharing

if you're a friend, or look friendly, she is grabbing onto a hand or arm and starting to lead you off. if you're someone that's a little more of a stranger, or more wallflowery, she will only bound up into your proximity without grabbing hold. (yet.) but she is all bright sunshine attitude and flowery ears, and she is ready. ]

C'mon, we have rides to go on. Can't just stand around all day and stare at them, can we? That's burning daylight!

II. fireworks show

[ she'll have simmered down, by this point, but she is no less affectionate to friends - both old and new - and will come to loop arms with familiar faces to settle in for the fireworks. ]

We don't have places like this, back home. It's been nice to have without all the, you know, nasty stuff that's happened with spontaneous kidnapping to other worlds.

[ Akira isn't really a friendly face, but he's not an unfriendly one either, so maybe that counts? Also Portia is one of the only people who could tug him easily so this is just happening now. ]

[ akira's a familiar enough presence, and one that she's had a pleasant time with, that this is absolutely happening. ]

We don't have things like this, where I'm from, but it's all pretty exciting in my opinion. A lot to see and do!

The spinny teacups were fun! Kind of made me dizzy after, though, so probably only something to ride a couple of times.

I want to try the, uh... the rollercoasters. [ :thinking: ] Or one of the water rides. They look kinda wild.

I agree. There's plenty of festivals that are just as lively, but all of these attractions are new.

Vesuvia doesn't have the kind of engineering that this place does yet. It kinda reminds me of Kings but really, really big, and a lot more yelly.

I think I saw something about this place being the happiest place on earth? [ waves hand at the earth part. ] So I suppose the yelling is the good kind.

Most of it. Some of the yelling has been some really pissy women, like the ones we saw in Nerak, but for the most part everyone just seems to have so many happy emotions they can't keep them in so they're just -

I don't either! There's a lot of yelling from those big rides on the tracks, though, so I want to see what that's all about.

Man, I really missed out when I was moonlighting as a pirate? I never got to fight a kraken, but a bunch of other people have, and it sounds like it sucks but also would be super fun?

On the contrary, I'm sure I can. For one, those look extremely ineffective. They're not going anywhere.

[Apparently Revali thinks the rides are...some sort of vehicle, and clearly these vehicles are good for nothing. As usual, he seems grumpy]

For - oh. [ pffff, portia laughs a little and comes to take one of his wingy arms, looping both of her arms around it to start sidling him towards the rides. ]

They're not meant for going anywhere, except for the tracks they're on, I think. It's just for the fun of the ride, Master Revali.
