Spring is in the air, or at least it is here. Regardless of where you may have been before, you'll hear the the sound of jaunty music playing ahead of you as you step into the sun.
Welcome...to the happiest place on Earth.
Everywhere around you seems to brighten and reach out to you, the sight of large, colorful structures and flashing lights, the sound of playful music and people laughing, the scent of delicious sweet and savory treats and the sudden weight in your pocket of a cell phone. Opening it, you'll find a special message:
To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.
Be sure to @ mmc to connect with others as you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
You will find what appears to be a forum available to you filled with names you may or may not recognize. Try putting a message out there and seeing who responds!
For those of you who are more hands on, the world is your oyster and the park is your playground. The lines to wait for the rides are fairly short, and all around you there's plenty of shops and kiosks for food, drinks, and souvenears. Didn't bring any money? That's alright. It seems that everything is free for today and today only! (And yes, that includes the alcohol at various establishments.)
Unlike the Christmas party some of you may have attended last winter, it seems there isn't any sort of pranking or tomfoolery happening in the park today. There are several lands to explore, along with several other parks and attractions attached. You may not have to kiss someone in order to leave...
...but it does seem as though the gates are locked for the next several hours. On occasion, you may feel a pair of ghostly hands push you forward toward that ride you're hesitating to board or tempting you with a sugary-sweet churro. You may find that taking a loop on It's a Small World will leave the song stuck in your head for several hours while riding something like Space Mountain will leave you feeling more bold than usual. Perhaps a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust will set you free? Oh well. All you can do now is relax, have fun, and wait for the fireworks spectacular to signal the end of the evening.
[ooc: it's once again mgcu mingle time, but there's a twist! this mingle is open to characters from the following:
however. you may also bring special guests in the form of characters you considered playing in previous games or characters you are anticipating playing in the future. have fun mingling with strangers!]

[hmm. she is going to look at a pair of blinged-out ears and not at him.]
...even back home, strange situations tend to be violent. Isn't that so? ...better to be prepared for the possibility here...
no subject
It sounds like you weren't just in a motel doing nothing for five weeks before you left.
[He says this pointedly.]
no subject
[she looks down at her hands]
Was it that obvious?
[she should practice being sneaky...]
no subject
To me, yes.
[He will give her a little credit. Maybe someone like Kuwabara or something wouldn't ever catch on to the things she wasn't saying.]
Were you hurt?
no subject
...
it's not entirely true. she did die, in the end - all but three of them did. but she wasn't hurt in the same way as the people who were murdered. not in the same way as ryou, who she killed - not in the same way as the other murders she knew would happen, and wasn't able to prevent.
at least her stint with the chainsaw had been after her victim died. it doesn't really clean any of the blood from her hands, but at least he hadn't had to suffer that.
(she's not thinking of the emotional hurt, either.)]
No. Not really.
no subject
Which means she probably got hurt, he thinks, though maybe not physically.
He's too quiet when he moves a bit away--too fast really--while she's not looking at him, and he's quiet when he moves back again. Something gets notched on top of her head.
The pair of snowflake ears.]
no subject
Eh?
[she
cannot see the ears on top of her head. she reaches up with her hand and feels them.]
...huh?
no subject
Well, now you have also been inducted into the clan of the rat. Congratulations.
[HE IS SO DRY ALL THE TIME.
Anyway, cute ice ears for an ice princess.]
no subject
he's so dry, but she can't help but giggle]
Thank you, Hiei-san.
no subject
Don’t thank me just yet until we know what exactly is going on.
no subject
All right.
...I'll be sure to thank you at that time.
[ :) ]
no subject
[This is said so half-assembly and without venom.
UGH… Can’t believe he has to cutely watch fireworks with his sister at the end only to hear her say thank you for the thousandth time.
He glances at her and then yet again looks away at the other ears.]
You know, in the Human World, this is called shoplifting.
no subject
but that is concerning.]
Oh, dear. Perhaps we should leave a... what did they call it... An "I.O.U."?
no subject
No. There will be NO tears here, not a single one. He refuses to allow her tears to pay tribute for this rat conglomerate.]
So we shall. There are a lot of us here, but I see no workers. I doubt it will matter.
Was there anyone else in the motel other than you and the rest?
no subject
[but she's not seeing anyone here who looks like a murdergame npc...
is that promising? she hopes it's promising.]
no subject
I see. What did they do?
no subject
[technically not incorrect...]
no subject
[HE JUST IMMEDIATELY PEGS CRAFTLY FOR SOME KIND OF JAILER WITH ILL INTENTIONS. This is simply a thing you do automatically being someone from the Demon World.]
An accomplice?
no subject
[years later and yukina still stans craftly]
no subject
emily :handshake: yukina
stanning craftly
He crosses his arms. Which is a funny image because he's, like, 4'10" and wearing a pair of mouse ears.]
His hand was forced?
ratshakes gmail until notifs come out
He was bound to that place, and required to follow certain rules and perform certain duties. He was subject to physical pain if he tried to warn us of certain things or say more than we were meant to know, as well.
gmail says no
[At least, that's what he can liken it to best. Someone who is required to adhere to certain duties and follow strict rules for a "game" to be... well, fair isn't the best word for an adventure in murder, but it's fine.
The silver lining is he doesn't feel like he needs to rip Craftly's arms off for Yukina's sake.]
He was good to you.
[It's not posed as a question, but it is sort of a question.]
no subject
[it's an apt comparison, she thinks.
...at his second question, she nods.]
He was. He tried to help us as best he could, under the circumstances. I... appreciated that quite a lot.
no subject
Perhaps we should be on the look out for someone like him then. Who knows which one of the others that could be when a portion of them all stink. [He means he can sense a handful of lil weirdos like himself running around.] We should, in theory, be fine.
I have my powers and my senses.
no subject
[...]
...which is different from last time. So, that bodes well, I think.
[but it also means that people who just didn't have powers at all are in more danger, if those who have them decide to get violent...]
