Happy holidays guys and gals! It seems this year’s holiday party is a little… more lowkey. After the stint at that weirdo airport, you all probably just want the time to eat, drink and be merry, right? Have at it! The mansion you find yourself in has its halls decked and holly in boughs sprucing up every corner, and you can find just about anything behind any of the doors. Looking for a hot tub to warm up? There’s at least four. How about a bounce house to burn off your extra energy? This one’s shaped like a castle! You can even find ballrooms, game rooms, shooting ranges, ice skating rinks and more, whatever your heart may desire. Everywhere you look there’s plenty of food, drink and entertainment to be had, so come and jingle while you mingle!

But you didn’t think it’d be that easy, did you? You know what time it is… as per usual, it’s mistletoe season! It seems like this year’s upped the ante and the demand for kisses is higher. If you’re not careful, here’s some things you might run into:

❄️ Mistletoe can, and will, appear at random in places you might not expect, and often times it will show up at inconvenient moments.

❄️ Unfortunately, it's not just the mistletoe conspiring against you. The garland hanging in the halls will slither down on occasion to tie you to another person, ushering you both under a sprig of mistletoe and binding you until you comply.

❄️ Every now and then, a patch of ice will appear underfoot, sending you careening into another person or two with the hopes your lips will collide.

❄️ A variety of cakes, candies, cookies and cocoa appear to be special, filling you with a burst of affection you just have to get out.

❄️ Mistletoe will stick to a random part of your body, and the only way to remove it is to pucker up! The longer you resist, the more you’ll wanna kiss.

Or maybe you've had the great fortune to avoid all of these pitfalls to enjoy the party! You're free to mingle and jingle. Eat, drink, and be merry and bright...but do keep in mind that if two people are together and avoid the mistletoe for too long, you will find yourselves trapped in a gingerbread shack for one hour or until a kiss is shared. Dealer's choice.

however. you may also bring special guests in the form of characters you considered playing in previous games or characters you are anticipating playing in the future, sort of like a TDM for potential options! this also includes any characters you may have brought to past endgame mingles for extra shenanigans because honestly, we've all had the itch of "OH X WOULD BE SO FUN OFF OF Y" and our castmate missed connections.

[ a large tiefling woman is sitting in the middle of the manor, with a santa hat on. it is placed artfully to the side so that it does not get pierced by her horns. the santa hat is not the only festive thing, either; her horns are decorated with garlands, which are sprouting mistletoe in a stubborn attempt to get some kissing going on, though be warned that there will be no kisses on the mouth from this woman unless you are a metal cowboy. oh, and also, she's not glowing. she's just a normal tiefling lady with no glowing chest. yay!

she looks pretty cozy, flopped out in a chair that is much too small for her, with a cocoa and some cookies, her tail wriggling in joy.

if you catch her gaze, she grins wildly and waves you down. come here!! come here. she has a gift box for you. doesn't matter if she knows you or not. ]

[ a lad with blue hair and mismatched eyes can be found wandering the grounds! you'd think that maybe he'd be frightened or unsure of being slapped down right in the middle of such crazy festivities, but nope. in fact, this lad is wide-eyed and excited, exploring the grounds and enthusiastically hanging out with the wildlife. like the penguins, who i presume are still wandering around. really, it just seems like he's having a great time exploring somewhere new.

if you approach, he grins warmly, and holds out a cupcake. ]

Would you like to try? I don't think it's poisoned.

but that's ten minutes from now. instead will is here!!! and so, strohl appears over will's shoulder, peers over at the cupcake, listens, and then says, with utter exasperation: ]

[ there's a bit of stressed energy radiating off of hulkenberg as she practically speed walks over to will, the second she sees him. this lad! will give her grey hair!



but she does stop as he holds up the cupcake, blinking down at it - and then there's two wolves inside of her, ears giving a small, downward twitch as she regards the morsel. oh no. oh, he's offering her food! but he's mentioning poison! why!! ]

... I shall find out, at the very least. [ it wouldn't do if will ate a poisoned cupcake. but her? she'd probably be fine. so she glances to make sure strohl isn't breathing down her neck to lecture her about eating weird food, and will nobly accept it from him to check that it isn't poisoned. ]

Suddenly and abruptly whisked away from her lifelong duty, the Princess of the Underworld awakens to find herself in a snow-strewn land unlike any she has ever encountered before. She has barely any time to get her bearings when she encounters a young man with mismatched eyes, much like her own. Any burgeoning kinship between them, however, is stifled when he offers her what appears to be a miniature cake with dubious intent.

...Forgive me, but I don't typically accept baked sweets of unknown origins from strangers in a foreign land, nor is it a habit I intend to pick up.

anyway. he's over by the food because of course he is. it's not like he can tell that there's Potentially Questionable Affection Effects attached to it, but he is interested in what's available. the longer he looks, the more excitedly his tail swishes from side to side, and if you get close enough you can hear him mumbling to himself. ]

Wonder if this is meant ta be some kinda special food to go along with all these decorations or somethin'. Like a theme.

except her energy is also a bit tailwag, as her ears perk up a bit on either side of her head. has she not learned her lesson about random food left out? probably not. but her head tilts as she surveys the food he's looking at, reaching for a nearby plate like she's thinking she can pile up with one of everything. ]

I think 'tis likely. Some of this I've seen similar to, before, but much of it looks - and smells - unfamiliar, albeit fantastic. Where should we begin..?

tama is over by the ice skating rink. she is ABSOLUTELY dressed up for christmas -- she's get a little christmas hat on and everything -- but she's looking at the rink and little tiredly and a little warily. ]

if she's not over by the rink you can find her occupying a comfy spot near enough to the food and drink that she doesn't have to go hunting, but quiet enough that she can chill and watch to see who's showing up and who she does and doesn't recognise.

she's also ignoring any and all wandering plant life, but. y'know. there's a long game to be played here and the location text says the plant will win, so. ]

anyway you can find the golden retriever in a human body that is rondo ravus at the food table because of course you can. if you've never met him before, maybe he strikes a nice picture - six feet of muscle and golden blonde hair knight in shining armor, (if you ignore how dumb his hair looks), standing tall and broad and perusing the food. it just so happens he overhears a nearby conversation - someone talking about the food with potential... problems...

it's a shame he's already like three quarters of the way through a slice of cake. rondo turns his head to look at you, approaching person. and with his mouth still full, his eyes comically wide, he says: ] --Curthed food?

look no further than zhongli! in a corner of the mansion, the retired archon has erected some geo energy to keep the mistletoe and garland at bay, if only temporarily. he's seated with one ankle propped on the opposite knee as he sips some mulled wine, as it looks (smells?) like, watching the activities with warm fondness. he's mostly here for the people watching and socializing in some peace and quiet, though it's not as if he can't be dragged out for the festivities. he's spry for his old age, and all that.

if you look his way, he raises his drink and beckons to the shelter that he's made, indicating the other seats in his little cluster. do you approach for safety, or come bearing mischief? ]

[ a familiar, but emo-er face appears! he has longer hair and more piercings than zhongli may remember. he flops down into one of the empty seats in the cluster, immediately assuming the slouchy, arms-crossed position of a moody teenager. ]

[ who invited the teens to this adult party. anyway here's chrono. christmas is a weird affair for him at the best of times so honestly the mystery mansion doesn't seem so bad! even with the suspicious glances he keeps sending up at all the mistletoe.

non-alcoholic eggnog is pretty lame for a drink choice but that's what he's got. it, at least, does not seem cursed. he's wearing an orange apron over a white shirt and red tie, as if he was swept away on the way to work, but there's a little bit of festive tinsel pinned to the front of it at least. there's a tote bag at his feet that he will occasionally bring a container of homemade gingerbread cookies out to offer. these ones are definitely not cursed! probably! perhaps. ]
