BLUESCLUES PENDANT COMMUNICATIONS

Well. You did it! Your pendants are yours to keep and you're able to reach out to anyone with a matching necklace. Maybe it's time to say hi? Or, you know...sometimes misfires happen.

I hope he can manage to make it out to do that.

[ a pause, and then: ]

What about you? Are you doing okay?

[ a long pause, then a breathless sort of laugh. which, hm, she doesn't really need to breathe? ]

No one's dying, and we're not being put into impossible situations against ridiculous odds and numbers and being asked to produce miracles for once.

I would say that puts the current situation somewhere solidly 'above average.' ... Oh, and we're currently in a safehouse in the green zone, so on the off chance anyone just happened to show up out of the blue, they don't have to worry about any chances of ELID infection.

I mean, that's a win. I'd just take the whole "not dying" thing. [ she says dryly. ]

The fuck is ELID?

Eurosky Low-Emission Infectious Disease. Better and more commonly known as that condition that turns people into, more or less, zombies.

[ she's makin a face even if it can't be seen. ]

Eugh. Gross. [ a beat. ] Yeah, definitely... don't stay in a place where Hunter could catch that, maybe? [ y'know, since zombie trauma. ] Can you get infected by that?

No. It's half the reason beings like me were... not necessarily made, originally, but so heavily invested in in the first place.

[ robots can't catch radiation zombie, Beau, they're good. ]

War took out a lot of the global population. They weren't going to risk what was left by sending them out to the more heavily contaminated zones. In any case- I can't guarantee that we won't ever find ourselves in any red zones, just in case anything unexpected happens- but the interesting thing about being the leader of your own independent squadron? Is that you get to pick and choose which jobs you go on.

[ so yeah, no zombie trauma for Hunter. ]
