Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[okay, so yes, this is a mistletoe meme, but also...

there's snow! and sheba is a gremlin! which means, seemingly out of nowhere, a snowball will come whizzing your way. hope your reflexes are good, because otherwise, you'll probably be shivering soon! there's a little giggle from the direction the snowball came from, and if you're quick, you might catch a glimpse of blonde hair or a purple cloak - but when you blink, no one's there.

moments later, sheba seems to be approaching from... the opposite direction? where'd she even come from? it's like she appeared out of nowhere.

anyway, she grins.]

aura seems to be, too, from where she's settled on her shoulder.]

Reze narrowly dodges the snowball, catching a glimpse of a familiar head of blonde hair. Or, really, she can just assume that any blonde person is a threat to her person because that's apparently what happened in game -- kinda.

When Sheba appears she's not entirely surprised, however. ]

I nearly ate a fistful of snow, but yeah! Stellar!

...I'll probably be cold later, but I looked inside and there's fireplaces, so it'll be fine!

[she's still giggling, and she brushes her hands off on her clothes. farewell, bits of snow.]

I doubt it. What would help is to at least know what's the meaning of all this? [He just...gestures at everything] Surely I cannot be the only one who is unhappy about being dragged without warning into a...celebration I don't even know what is for.

[What's Christmas, hell if he knows. Truthfully, he'd be complaining far less if he wasn't wearing the festive clothing he was suddenly forced into because the player here saw the chance and took it]

It's a little worrying, but...

[she gestures for him to lean in a little and lowers her voice so no one can overhear what she's about to say.]

I read the minds of a few people I didn't recognize, and it seems like this sort of thing has happened before. They just spent a little time here, had some fun together, and then went home with no problems. So... although I don't know what it is we're celebrating, I think it'll be okay.

[Somehow that this is hardly the first time...makes this better and worse at the same time. Huh. Well, if it happens only when it's winter then maybe he can deal with it, if only because he'll have time to prepare himself for the shenanigans. Alright]

So...this is all pretty much a large-scale version of the usual antics people got up, hm.

Although I didn't expect to see myriad of strangers as well. When I regained my senses I expected to see the forty of you again -- the new faces were a surprise.

[ something about all of these feels so familiar...at least there's not ruinguards involved this time. and yes he absolutely let's himself get wrecked with the snowball and he isn't even mad about it. ]

[truly so many people just let sheba get away with choosing violence.

she beams at diluc, though, and accepts the gloves with a thank you! before giving him a hug. aura takes a moment to float down off her shoulder and snuggle polaris.]

I'm not worried about my hands freezing off as long as you're here. [she knows diluc won't let her suffer the cold for too long! in the meantime, though, it's kind of fun to throw snowballs at people.] I never got to do that before... it didn't really snow in Lalivero.

Next time it snows in Mondstadt you'll need to visit, we can have plenty of snowball fights, and build snowmen as well.
