Jingle Mingle...2
Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...
...a ski lodge.
Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)
Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!
The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.
This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.
Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?
Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.
[ooc: it's mgcu time! this mingle is open to characters from the following:

that's for you to decide.
tanhua is not immediately visible, and both hua chengs came from about the same time period (with some shenanigans between), so it's not as if it's easy to visually distinguish one from the other. is this a watcher, or another participant? pick one. he's about to be in three games come next summer so i already know what i'm about, and that's a lot of fafa.
regardless, here he is. being a showoff. he's sculpting some snow and ice sculptures that are, frankly, insane and realistic. if you ask nicely, maybe he'll do one for you? so long as you don't touch the one that looks like xie lian at his most resplendent, because otherwise he might kill you off schedule. ]

He looks great, Hua Cheng! You're really a great artist, you know?

He's appreciating the snow art (snart?) and he won't touch because he's not rude.]
Man, you can work with just about anything, can't you?
[It's praise, really. And then he points at whatever sculpture Hua Cheng is working on now.]
What's that one gonna be?
no subject
he puffs some powdery snow off of what he's carving. ]
I can, yes. [ factual ] This one might be a swan once I'm done with it. It'll be more delicate work, given the neck and the weight the wings will have.
no subject
A swan would be cool. I think we had one of those at that one place, the ice hotel? Or was that one of the ones I melted...
[He doesn't remember whoops.]
Oh, but you could use water to make the neck stronger, yeah?

and a single white bloom, covered in dewdrops as if plucked out of a certain memory, placed in one hand.

so now you get baby xie lian instead! he also looks very happy to see hua cheng - dealers choice on which version - and ruoye the ferret chitters excitedly and hops down from xie lian's shoulders, immediately scurrying over to greet him!
his highness meanwhile looks up at the statue that is absolutely of himself. ]
...Did you make this...?
no subject
you can have tanhua. he comes around from the other side of the statue that hua cheng is currently carving, all of his tails wiggling as he greets ruoye - a lick to the head, nuzzling his long noodle body - before going to bound up to xie lian. his person glances up, knelt down to work on the base of his current statue.
the likeness between xie lian and his statue is uncanny. ]

anyway! shi qingxuan is just ambling by and sipping at some alcoholic drink or another, but she pauses to admire the sculptures.]
You really do have an eye for that sort of thing!
[
the joke was entirely unintentional on her part. and on mine, actually. i didn't realize until i started to write this meta text.]

tanhua appears, briefly, from behind the sculpture that this hua cheng is working on for a moment. the wolf-sized fox stares at her with his right eye closed, the other dark and twinkling - and then he shifts back around so that he can go back to digging up more snow.
his person glances up at shi qingxuan, and then is back to work, himself. ]
And often only one. [ dryly, but not without some humor ]

[She is all smiles as she darts through the snow towards where he's working, her eyes bright. She still remembers his paintings from the realm very well, but sculptures???]
Aaa, look, look at all of this... [Her eyes are wide, her breath ghosting up in a fog as she takes a long moment to circle them and glance over the details.] Did you do all of this by yourself?

Meimei. Hello there. [ he dusts his hands off, reaching to tweak a free piece of her hair. his touch is already cold as a ghost, he's not going to subject her to frigid fingies right now out here in the chill of the snow. ] I did, yes. Some were already standing, but the newer ones are my creations.

You really need to make an art gallery or something. Your talent is phenomenal.
no subject
My art decorates Ghost City at large, especially considering I helped to build many of the structures there. But perhaps the next time we find ourselves in one of these gatherings I'll do a gallery.

Have an awkward son instead. He's settled under a tree away from others, and he's paused in his meditation to watch because he can appreciate fine craftsmanship! (Can he sense Hua Cheng's demonic energy or is it concealed?? Maybe that's another reason he's staring,
But he doesn't say anything, just watches quietly.]

he does glance up, just to locate where the source is this time. not too surprising to see a cultivator hanging out, actually. but he does cock an eyebrow.

BUT THAT'S FINE because Wei Wuxian is here anyway to be a curse, just generally speaking. He's not doing anything particularly cursed right now, having been drawn over by the familiar rancidity of some dank resentful vibes and taking some time to enjoy these MASTERFUL SCULPTURES. His hands are set on his hips and he's leaning back to look up and up at them!!]
What works of art—! Wonderful! You know, we didn't get much of this - of the snow and the ice and all that, before. [Either in his various homes and also in one of his two stints in Murder Hell.] It's almost enough to make a person forget about how miserable the cold is!
no subject
anyways, things are suddenly very dank over here? hua cheng glances up when he gets the Vibe, sort of assessing how much he should care about it and if he needs to strike qi rong down yet again. when he sees it's just a different twink, he resumes his work, allowing him to admire it in peace. especially since he turns around and praises it. ]
I've long since lost my sense for the cold, so it makes for a decent medium to work with when there's enough, since I don't notice it much. But not a sight you've seen much, yourself?
