Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[ the last time kon was on the summer mingly, his hair was bleached blond since it was immediately after they graduated. he's since returned it to black because i'm too lazy to go find the link to his blond self. it's still shorter, and it looks a little bit like he's dyed some blue in sneakily - look, sometimes your murderforged sister does your hair for some serotonin and you want to keep that memory - but it's still very much nerdboy kon.

he's checking out the food selection, and eying the penguins and elves. ]

... well, better than the geese. [ hopefully there are no geese. he offers a plate of fingerfood to the nearest person. ] Snack while we're stuck here for an unspecified timeframe?

[Oh good, a familiar person! One of his people, even! Which means Lalli will go right on over to tug on Kon's sleeve.]

They look like birds but they're too fat to fly with those tiny wings, what are they?

[He sees the plate and he will scrutinize it before finding a cracker that he deems acceptable on it, which he will take and shove into his mouth. Then:]

Perhaps this is for the solstice. A celebration.

[ kon leans slightly more towards lalli, posture more open as he does. ]

Penguins, babe. Gentoo penguins, if I had to guess, but there's some things off about them. [ like the fact they're cartoony ] They're usually found in far south regions of Earth - polar opposite of where you're from. But penguins swim in colder waters instead of flying.

[ cracker taken, he reaches for something squishier from the plate to eliminate that from the options for lalli's sake, popping it into his own mouth. he talks with it in his cheek. ]

Maybe. It's probably like that festival that happened right after we graduated. Lots of unfamiliar faces.

Oh. Penguins.

[He nods after listening to the explanation. See, he knew Kon would have the answer.]

So we're in the far south of Earth, for some kind of winter festival. With all these other unfamiliar people, and some familiar.

[Being around so many people does make Lalli antsy, but he reminds himself that the Rash doesn't exist here and it's fine. Though staying near the people he knows and away from big groups is still Lalli's plan here.]

We should see if there is a hot spring or a sauna around here.

Infinitely less hostile. The elves are on thin ice, though.

Yeah, definitely. The finger food here is pretty good - it all kind of reminds me of the stuff we got to have for the winter formal.

[What if they're even WORSE?? An even more insidious form of avian evil whose full power has yet to be unleashed...

Nah, Sakyou might be giving them a sideeye, but he's not actually that worried. Honestly, he's just tired, and within the first like five seconds of being here he had basically mentally thrown his hands up and become the I GUESS!! meme.]

You're quite calm as usual, though. I suppose it's a good thing indeed that some people are so reliable.

[Said as he politely holds a hand up to deny the offer of snackies.]
