Jingle Mingle...2
Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...
...a ski lodge.
Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)
Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!
The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.
This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.
Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?
Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.
[ooc: it's mgcu time! this mingle is open to characters from the following:

oh dear.
shi qingxuan gives a little wave of her fan, and a breeze comes by to help brush some of that snow away.]
Are you alright, Your Highness?
no subject
[ xie lian looks - well, a little surprised, and then sheepish, laughing a bit awkwardly as he tries to brush the snow out of his hair. ] Please, it's nothing to be worried over, Lady Windmaster... I'm quite alright.
no subject
...well! You must be a little chilly now. Let's go inside and get you warmed up.
no subject
[ habitually, he does glance down and check his fingertips. no frostbite this time! this is a win! ]
Lady Windmaster, it's... [ a pause. ] - truly, it is good to see you. It's been some time.
no subject
Ahahaha, well... [...] Time does have a way of passing, doesn't it? But it's fine. I'm glad we ran into each other!
[conspiratorially:]
Did you see the sculptures your Hua Cheng was working on? They're stunning.
no subject
so, he smiles - though, that smile turns into a surprised, vaguely sweaty one almost immediately. ]
Eh?
[ oh no ] He did what?
no subject
[he didn't know...]
If he tries to surprise you with them later, you mustn't tell him I let it slip!
no subject
Of course....
[ why ]
...How.... Lady Windmaster, how many of them are there, exactly...?
no subject
[she giggles.]
It was really quite impressive.
no subject
[ oh, his face starts turning red immediately. he's flattered, because san lang is wonderful and talented, but also, oh, he is embarrassed. let xie lian just put his face in his hands for a moment. ]
I see....
no subject
shi qingxuan, who is finally flustering someone else instead of getting flustered herself, giggles. also they're inside now, so she'll pass him a cup of tea once he does finally remove his face from his hands before pouring herself some wine.]
It's nothing to be embarrassed about, Your Highness. If anything, I'm sure anyone who sees them will be a little jealous!
no subject
he scrubs his face a little bit, definitely still embarrassed. ]
If you say so... [ really he's used to statues of himself prostrate and crying so (snow) statues of him in elegance are at least new. ] I don't believe he did that in the Realm.
[
he pauses and looks in the direction of the window, and xie lian's face clearly reads ... did he? ]
no subject
Ahaha. That you know of, anyway!
[she sips at her tea]
I'm sure it's nothing for you to worry about. He's hardly going to make a statue of you look bad.
no subject
[ but somehow it's very charming that that's what sqx thinks of first. very qingxuan. ]
... Lady Windmaster, is it really true you were in one of these strange situations as well...? It seems there are quite a few of us.
no subject
[she puffs her cheeks out a bit, pouting.]
Really! I wish I knew what it is about us that makes whatever is responsible for whisking us all away so interested in people from our world.
no subject
That is a good question, Lady Windmaster... [ it has not gone unnoticed that it seems to only be people xie lian knows well, so he is pretty sure this is some terrible side effect of his bad luck, actually, but he's not going to say that. ] Really, you would think it would just be me....
no subject
[xie lian has suffered enough, as far as she's concerned! at least this way there will be people he can talk to about his experiences who will actually understand.]
And at least things seem peaceful enough here, for now.
no subject
he doesn't say that though, just gives shi qingxuan a little smile. ]
So they do. Something like this occurred last year, as well - so, I imagine we'll be able to leave sooner or later. It is a small blessing, to be able to see familiar faces.
[ a beat, there, and his smile softens. ] Those from our adventures, and those from home, alike. It is always a pleasure, Lady Windmaster.
no subject
right now, there is a distinct lack of suffering, and that suits her just fine.]
Well! It's a party, then. Those were always good for lightening the mood back at the center, so I can't say I'm at all opposed.
[she beams at him.]
It's a pleasure to see you, too, Your Highness. It's been far too long! Which is a little funny, come to think of it, because I was about to come and see you right before I was whisked away, but so many things have happened and I've spent quite a lot of time away from home, now... [she's fixing them up with drinks and snacks as she babbles.] I'm long overdue for a visit with you! I hope you've been well, present circumstances aside?
