Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

Yeah... it's really cold out there. Dad picked me up so my toes wouldn't fall off!

[She moves the whale around so she can peer down at both of their feet. Mainly his. HE'S BAREFOOT?!]

We were going to get new ones for me, but then we ended up here.

[She sees. He has shoes, but they are not very good shoes. She looks at her own Mary Jane shoes. She would give him the socks, but............she is wearing stockings that go all the way up into the shorts.]

Um. Do you want to wear mine?

No, that's okay. [he leans in and lowers his voice to a whisper, like he's telling a secret. I kind of like it like this because it means my dad picks me up more.

[Both brows rise, but then she gives a small, conspiratorial smile.]

Good idea. [Hm.] If I take my shoes off, do you think your dad would pick me up, too?

Okay! [Nothing is better than being lifted up as a child. Carefully, she sits down on the ground to take off both of her shoes.] I'm going to hide them.

[She will put them under one of the tables behind a leg and then trots back to Guzi. HOPE NO ONE TAKES HER SHOES.]

anyway, guzi nods, and looks around, and - ]

Daaad! We want to go outside!

[qi rong wanders over and looks between the two of them.]

In this cold? Your feet will fall off.

[Just two kids, vibing. It's fine. She nods affirmatively, and then looks down at her and Guzi's feets. Hehe.]

They will be very cold. But, um, if they didn't touch the ground then they would be okay!

[he says, and then picks each of them up. guzi's in one arm; emily's in the other. he is now trudging outside.]

If you fall and lose your feet because of the cold it's not my fault.

[Ooooooooooo, all these bad words. This is the worst babysitter.] Really? [Unfortunately, Emily loves stories, especially ones with monsters.]

It's okay. Mr. Havelock said a lot of bad words all the time at the Hound Pits. Mister, did you really fight monsters? More than one? What did they look like?

[guzi smacks qi rong's shoulder. he stops making cannibalism jokes for now.]

Have you seen a sea monster before? Is that why you wanna fight one?

[She really plans to become a monster slayer.]

I haven’t seen any at home yet. Mother and Corvo wouldn’t let me leave Dunwall Tower because I’m too young. There weren’t any monsters at the Hound Pits… just people. But Mister Sokolov said he has seen sea monsters before!

Craftly was like a monster, but… he was very nice to me, so I don’t think he’s a monster.

[qi rong doesn't know who craftly is, but he doesn't want to admit that. so he nods along as if what she's saying makes perfect sense.

guzi, who has no such qualms, looks curious.]

Who's Craftly? Is he here too?
