Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[well, royce wouldn't be much of a master sneak assassin if he just snowballed childe in front of god and everybody so he's safe for now.]

Mm. Your home is very cold. [he pulls his cloak closer.] Could get a drink. To warm up.

[listen even if he did everyone would side with royce over childe anyway. But it's all good]

Would you like one? I can fetch it. [Since he kind of figures Royce wouldn't want to go inside with all those people? But also Royce has stealth stats... so it's up to him.] I heard there are fire pits out here somewhere, too.

[Childe himself likes being in the thick of things, but he doesn't mind indulging (haha) his antisocial buddy and wandering off for a while]

[he glances at the building, and wrinkles his nose. a beat, and then:]

We can find the fire pits. [he's escaped emily, he doesn't want to have to deal with that again. wheeze.] The both of us can find drinks. I'm not so helpless.

[but that's mostly teasing, since his tone is easy, even if it's as quiet as always.]

[And here he was going to ask if Royce wanted a third daughter. Then he'd really become a dilf

Anyway he winks]

Maybe I'm just used to serving royalty? [this is a stupid joke about royce's crown from the station] But I don't mind if you don't.

[He'll be nice but it's not like Royce needs babying or anything. TO THE BOOZE.]

[childe earns himself a scowl with the serving royalty bit because surprise he actually is a king technically back home but he's not sure if childe knows that. anyway.]

Go on, then. [and he'll follow childe to the booze! though, as they're walking:] Doesn't seem dangerous, here. Yet.

[The implications were probably there tbh but he does not officially know this, no--and while he notes the scowl, Royce is Royce and thus it doesn't really register as out of the ordinary. But he'll leave the joke in favor of lifting his hand, summoning a Hydro arrow to show that his Vision is working. He twirls it around once before it dissipates.]

Mm. But we've got a bit more of an advantage if that changes, apparently. [And Childe will fight anyone at any time, but for once in his life he kind of hopes things stay calm, because he'd rather not go slaughtering kids.]

[malborn]

[royce watches him summon that arrow with a slightly wary air to him. magic is still weird. he's more used to it now, but it's still wild to just see people summon water arrows out of nowhere.]

Seems like. [he's not going to tell all of his secret abilities, but he does have them.] Try not to stab me in the back and I'll do the same for you, should it come to that.

[toyska]

[Childe clucks his tongue, putting his hands back in his pockets.]

You needn't worry. While I'd love to cross blades with you, I'd much rather do it on our own terms. [Backstabbing is for his LOSER COWORKERS he's so bored of that shit. Wow, he's just now realizing he should've tried to ask Royce for a spar at the station... sad...] Between the two of us, I'm sure we could handle it before things got to that point anyway.

[Just them? No one else here would be helpful? Okay.]

[this is the most romantic thing anybody has ever said to royce]

Mm. We could. [no, yeah. just them! this seems legit to him. he tilts his head to the side just a little, from under his hood.] If I were going to fight you, Childe, you'd already be full of holes.

[but this is like, teasing? sort of? he's joking, which is probably hard to tell.]

[Can you imagine if Royce was a player character in 7r with Childe. Horrific.

As it is, Childe just throws his head back and laughs, clearly delighted by this answer.]

[In his defense it's not like Royce would enjoy his other hobbies anyway, though the idea of dragging him up onto a stage to perform somewhere is very funny]
