Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

I never said anything about being a prude, but is this really necessary?

[ So yes, it's necessary. She beckons him to come closer. ]

[fair enough. he can't exactly deny that given this is greed and a greed-adjacent, so he comes closer until he's in front of her.]

I suppose it would be quite unfair of me to deny that...[though he's still a little on-edge just to make sure this isn't going to backfire somehow.]

[ She laughs. ]

I'm not going to eat you alive.

[ A beat. ]

Not unless you want me to.

[ She winks. ]

[weirdly, that's what gets him to relax and he rolls his eyes as he leans a little to be closer to her height.]

I feel like this is the time I should say something about missed opportunities. [he does have to come to terms with the part where he may or may not have said yes if medb propositioned him back then.]

[ you're killing me

Medb smiles up at him and sets her glass down on a nearby table before she reaches up to lace her fingers behind his neck. ]

Don't miss this one, then, hm?

[wow. truly no escape here. but he shrugs nonchalantly like this was actually his idea instead of hers.]

If you insist. [is she surprised when he moves and actually kisses her? who's to say.]

[ She is a little surprised because she thought it'd take more needling, but she's pleased it didn't. She smiles against his lips before she kisses him back. ]

It never hurts to be greedy.

[it should have, in all fairness, but miles also knows himself and knows that if he didn't do it now a.) he never would have and b.) medb might have actually killed him. so she wins this round.]

So I've heard. Despite being the avatar, you've always been better at it than I've been lately.

[it's the most backwards compliment, but it's there.]

[ She slaps him lightly on the arm. Compliments to her should be straightforward. ]

You're a little too lawful. Have a little more fun.

[no slaps!]

Funny thing to say to a lawyer, Medb, but understood. [he frowns at the mistletoe though.] Some of us aren't as well-versed in creating our own fun like you are, but you've once again impressed me.

[is that better.]

[ It's a lot better. ]

It's because you're a lawyer that I said that.

[ She holds up the mistletoe again before she flings it over his shoulder. ]

Kiss me anytime you want.

[ She says it like a challenge. ]

[farewell, mistletoe. miles watches it sail into the abyss and he absolutely hears the challenge in her tone. normally he wouldn't rise to the bait, but...it has been some time since they've seen one another.

he also assumes she doesn't expect him to bend to her whims, so before she can protest he kisses her again? it's a little longer of a kiss this time, but when he pulls back he raises an eyebrow.]

Anytime is a very powerful word, Medb. I'm sure you realize that. [please consider being less horny, is what he means.]

[ He's right. She does not expect him to kiss her again so soon, but she giggles when he pulls away, pleased. ]

Of course I do.

[ Horny is what she is more often than not, unfortunately, but she figures Miles cares too much about propriety. ]

And I won't take it back.

[ She pulls him down for another kiss. She won't be less horny. ]

[the way i read that last sentence and blacked out for several days. anyway, medb, unfortunately, deserves the world according to miles now that he doesn't have to know how active her horny gene is so she's allowed to take another kiss from him. this is apparently the pattern they've developed because he pulls away again to rebuttal.]

I'm afraid this may be the last time I see you for a while. Therefore "anytime" may only be this time.

[ yeah, she has that effect. the words i have to type because of her.

She won't pull him down for another kiss just yet, but her arms are still very much looped around him. It's good to know she has a lawyer on her side if she ever does conquer the world. ]

Then take advantage of now. I will.

[you know the worst part about all of this is he truly could just like. grab her arms, lift her up, and walk away. but he won't? he won't because miles is nothing but short of being a sucker for people he genuinely likes, and despite medb being a terror in so many ways...well.

well.]

It was never a question who you would align with, was it. [she was always going to be his, greed-aligned and stomping on everything to get her way. it's admirable. but he does think perhaps she has a good idea here, so an arm tentatively wraps around her waist to pull her just slightly closer.]

I suppose I can't say I've found a reason not to. [taking advantage of now is a great idea, hate that he's now just out here willingly kissing her in front of god and everyone but sometimes...you're also in your late 20s, lonely, stupid, and attracted to people. horrific.]
