Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[anyways he's going to go over to glance up at the mistletoe, draw his sword back, and...yeah, he's whacking it. The sprig goes flying.]

[Mandricardo turns and gives a thumbs up to Nero.]

I dunno what that means.

It's like...I'm a summoned version of myself from history? Like...a magical copy. Maybe. It's real complicated.

[He smiles, shyly.]

Ha. Thanks. No sweat off my back.

It sounds complicated even when yer explaining it. You don't have to think about it too much, d'ya?

Not really. But my boyfriend, he's got magical power that keeps me around, so...as long as he's keeping up the contract, then I don't have to worry 'bout anythin'.

So you're kinda like a ghost that needs magic to stick around? That right?

Yeah, that's like, the simplest way to put it.

[And he twists his mouth to the side.]

Yes and...no? What he does is called "cultivation". But he can make spells and talismans and stuff.

I've heard about it, but I still don't think I get the cultivation stuff.

Not all wizards can make talismans where I'm from.

[duranduel]

Really? Huh. Well, I guess there's like...differences everywhere. Different kinds of magic and stuff. Not that I would know. Ain't like I did any magic when I was alive.

[perfectdistance]

I'm a wizard, so I'm only used to that kinda magic.

Uh... Nero, Eastern county chef.

[ he might as well introduce himself. ]

[He recognizes that!]

I'm Eastern, too! Oh, um. Assigned Eastern. I heard its a nice place for introverts. I'm Mandricardo. Nice to meet ya.

[He hasn't seen any other wizards around. Should be fairly likely.]

[duranduel]

Yeah...that's the guy.

[He smiles, a little fondly.]

That guy...

[There's an annoyance he can't hide.]

He really draws ya in.

[He notices it. And...hey, wait, this guy...with his blue hair...hasn't he seen him before?]

Yeah. He's...been really nice to me.

[perfectdistance]

Yeah he can be like that.

[Personally he finds this a trap.]

Doesn't mean he'll listen to ya when it's important.

[duranduel]

Oh...

[He frowns...it doesn't sound like Bradley, but...]

I'm sorry if he's...treated you that way.

He'll run into danger without a second thought, no matter how many times you say he could die.

[duranduel]

[He scratches his cheek. That does sound like Bradley, actually.]

You're real worried 'bout him, huh.

[perfectdistance]

Who said anythin' about that?

[He cares very much.]

[duranduel]

I mean, it's clear. If you didn't care, I mean...you wouldn't care if he put himself in danger.

[perfectdistance]

[Just an incredibly huffy sigh.]

Not like that'll stop him from riskin' his life.
