Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

Mm... I wasn't anticipating it would be that straightforward, if anything were to happen.

[They can have matching terrible mindsets, and for a second, a little of the dourness of that sentiment settles into his expression. He's quick to try clearing it, though; most everyone else seems to be having a relatively good time, and he doesn't want to spoil a potentially Decent Kidnapping by being gloomy and dire.]

Anyway, she points at a plate of roast beef pinwheels. She does not know what they're called. ]

[STOP MAKING THE MOOD WORSE WHEN HE'S TRYING TO BUOY IT!! He just offers a very thin smile, shaking his head gently.]

Simply more of the same. The predictably unpredictable, if you will.

[Murder still! But like, damn, there are so many flavors of murder present here apparently. Who knows, maybe they'll end up in the next Thots. He's giving the pinwheel a curious look, though... Once again trying to gently set the dourness aside.]

Is that meat? What an unusual arrangement...

[ SHE IS A MOODKILLER. THAT'S JUST HOW SHE IS. HE CHOSE THIS.

She pops a pinwheel into her mouth. ]

It's a damn good arrangement. There's cheese in it, too.

[ But look, she isn't stupid enough not to read the lines he's writing. ]

[ She doesn't often share her own food. ]

[Y-- yeah he did wow. It's fine, he too is a moodkiller in most circumstances. Can't believe he's trying to do the opposite for once...

Anyway, since he does indeed recognize food as a Kainé love language, he will smile in his stupid soft quietly fond way and murmur a quiet thanks before nodding and reaching out to take one. He covers his mouth with his free hand like the fancy princess he is, which is all the better for him since it's a good but surprisingly robust taste that catches him a bit off guard...

After he's done with his bite, still from behind his sleeve:] —It may be a little stronger than I'm used to, but I can't say that I dislike it. [........] Would you like the rest?

[LOOK. He doesn't mind it but also, Kainé is definitely enjoying them more.]

[ It's the Kainé effect. When she's so down, you want to be up for her.

He truly is so much more prim and proper than she will ever be. This must be what it means to have been rich once and not live in a post-apocalyptic world. It's endearing because it's him, but all Kainé does is hold out her hand. ]

You don't have to give me all those fancy words, Sakyou.
