Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[He considers for a moment--not whether or not he could do it, because he's OP and the answer is yes, but whether or not he'd be comfortable doing so. But it's just Lila, so it should be fine. Lan Wangji doesn't have any friends but he's probably like. Rescued a commoner or two and let them ride with him temporarily.]

anyway, she hops up there, and because everyone in ladybug has good balance except for when the plot demands that marinette be clumsy, she has no trouble with this]

[THEN SHE SHOULD'VE DITCHED THE RULES NERD who is actually down with more stabbing than it would seem but it's fine. It's still forbidden at this moment!!!

Anyway, Lan Wangji's sword is long enough that there's plenty of space for both of them; once she's up, he thinks about it, then offers his hand.]

It would be wise to hold on. [It would probably be smarter to just let her hold his arms or his waist or something, but even with Lila that's a little too much proximity, so this is an acceptable compromise. Fortunately, even if she had bad balance, his stupid Lan arm strength would be enough to keep her steady.

But once they're ready, he will set off! Not too quickly, but he does guide them up high enough that they're over the roof of the lodge, away from anyone else they might run into on accident.]

[THE RULES NERD WAS ACTUALLY NICE TO HER EVEN WHEN SHE ACTED LIKE A BRAT so unfortunately (for him) she is not ditching him anytime soon.

they sure are zipping around on a sword. this is actually pretty cool. for once she looks like she's just enjoying herself and not plotting something?? it's kind of cold since the wind is probably whipping around them but it's fine.]

No wonder you guys don't use horses. This is way cooler.

[It is definitely cold but you wouldn't know it looking at Lan Wangji, who is as stoic as ever even when sword surfing. How does he manage to make this look graceful and elegant, the world will never know.

He guides them in a wide loop around their general surroundings; they're not going that fast, but he raises his voice a little bit anyway, just to be sure she can hear him.]

Horses are preferable in some instances. [Like when they're traveling with someone who can't fly, or they have goods to transport, or the area being traveled just isn't well-suited for flight.] They are also used in ceremonies.

[Lan Wangji himself doesn't mind horses, but he prefers walking or flying.]

Discussion Conferences. Marriages. Competitions. [Though, admittedly--] Each Sect's traditions differ. Gusu Lan does not often call for horses.

We do not stand around. [Lan Wangji never "stood around" anywhere in his life until SOME GREMLIN barged into his life and made him do things like hover awkwardly behind trees like a weirdo stalker...] We meditate. Dine. Perform rituals. [If Lan Wangji were the type to shrug, he'd do that now; the vibe is still there, even if he doesn't move.] Different occasions require different actions. All are done quietly and respectfully.

it's interesting, she guesses, but it's still hard to imagine all of that happening quietly - except for the meditation. that, she can picture being done in silence.]

I guess if you grew up with it, it would probably be easier...
