Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[A year is both so fucking long and so fucking short, Riku knows. He hums a kind of agreement in his throat.]

Sora has been there... at least three times if not more. It's... probably taken a toll on him. If he isn't there anymore, I think he might have... I'm not sure. It sounds crazy, but I think he might have slipped into another place.

He said before he had to put himself back together. I'm not sure what that means exactly.

[But there's a bit of relief hearing Yamato tell him not to worry about the fuck in the black coat. He still will a little, even if Yamato is right.]

Sorry. I didn't mean to dump all of this onto you two right now.

Like through a rift. [he says, having experienced that a few times himself and finding this perfectly normal.] He might be okay but just somewhere you can't reach yet. Putting himself back together implies he fell apart but...he was in one piece when you saw him, right?

[this is to both yamato and riku who have actually talked to sora. but he leans over yamato's lap to kind of poke riku's cheek softly, chidingly but not really.]

Don't apologize. We asked, and we're gonna help. He's still important to you and you'd do the same for us anyway.

Sora's in one piece now. That means wherever he is, he's fine, and it's just a matter of finding him.

[ to answer taichi's question and also be horribly wrong because no one on this couch knows yozora exists. taichi's leaning over his lap to poke riku and yamato, meanwhile, raises their joint hands for a knuckle kiss on riku. that's what you get for not wearing gloves. ]

I'd be mad if you didn't tell us about this. [ so there. ]

[He gets really shy about the poking, reaching up to fondly and playfully swat at Taichi's hand. Except he gets distracted by the hand kiss and continues to be embarrassed. WHY IS HE EMBARRASSED IN BOTH THREADS HERE.]

Sora is a lot stronger than he gives himself credit for... or that I ever gave him credit for... [Stupid.] But he's also really stubborn.

Wherever he is, he'll be okay until we can figure out how to find him.

[Maybe he's just repeating their reassurances to help reassure himself.]

I guess I'd be mad if you didn't tell me, too.

[hehe. he doesn't really pull away but he does let up just a little while riku embarrasses himself over enjoying affection, apparently.]

Yeah, see? So it's fine. You still have things to do and we'll make sure you make it through them before we try to find him. A few of our friends might have some ideas, too. We used to be able to kind of track each other.

[ yamato does not let go because riku being embarrassed is hilarious and cute. but he nudges taichi a little ]

The range on that was never that far, but we also haven't really needed to use it in a while. Whatever the case, Taichi's right, we'll ask around. [ he kisses riku's cheek ... and then turns and does taichi so he doesn't whine about being left out ]
