Spring is in the air, or at least it is here. Regardless of where you may have been before, you'll hear the the sound of jaunty music playing ahead of you as you step into the sun.
Welcome...to the happiest place on Earth.
Everywhere around you seems to brighten and reach out to you, the sight of large, colorful structures and flashing lights, the sound of playful music and people laughing, the scent of delicious sweet and savory treats and the sudden weight in your pocket of a cell phone. Opening it, you'll find a special message:
To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.
Be sure to @ mmc to connect with others as you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
You will find what appears to be a forum available to you filled with names you may or may not recognize. Try putting a message out there and seeing who responds!
For those of you who are more hands on, the world is your oyster and the park is your playground. The lines to wait for the rides are fairly short, and all around you there's plenty of shops and kiosks for food, drinks, and souvenears. Didn't bring any money? That's alright. It seems that everything is free for today and today only! (And yes, that includes the alcohol at various establishments.)
Unlike the Christmas party some of you may have attended last winter, it seems there isn't any sort of pranking or tomfoolery happening in the park today. There are several lands to explore, along with several other parks and attractions attached. You may not have to kiss someone in order to leave...
...but it does seem as though the gates are locked for the next several hours. On occasion, you may feel a pair of ghostly hands push you forward toward that ride you're hesitating to board or tempting you with a sugary-sweet churro. You may find that taking a loop on It's a Small World will leave the song stuck in your head for several hours while riding something like Space Mountain will leave you feeling more bold than usual. Perhaps a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust will set you free? Oh well. All you can do now is relax, have fun, and wait for the fireworks spectacular to signal the end of the evening.
[ooc: it's once again mgcu mingle time, but there's a twist! this mingle is open to characters from the following:
however. you may also bring special guests in the form of characters you considered playing in previous games or characters you are anticipating playing in the future. have fun mingling with strangers!]

If that's true, and you are like the rest of them, then why am I here? To collect you?
no subject
[she will keep her gaze on her hands.]
It's been years since then. I don't have a clue why I'm here now, let alone why you are.
no subject
[It isn’t a question. His eyes are hard, but the ferocity doesn’t seem to be at her.]
What happened, Yukina?
no subject
A group of us found ourselves in some sort of strange motel. We spent five weeks there - and then found our way back to where we came from.
[...which is the truth. an oversimplification of it, perhaps, but the truth nonetheless.]
It's been years since then. No one seemed to notice that I had been gone, so... I didn't see the point in bringing it up.
no subject
He looks her over with a renewed sort of studious gaze, like he thinks he’ll find the cracks of her left behind. Literally, he could just ask her if she is okay, but he is stupid. Then he glances around then suspiciously.]
You should have told someone anyway. Let’s hope we are not stuck here for five weeks, or I’ll be angry.
no subject
[it's been years, so she is okay, even not having told anyone about what happened back then. she's just a little nervous that murder is going to be on the table again. but, if it is, they'll handle it.]
I will, too. [yukina can, in fact, get angry. although she doesn't do that as much now that she's spending more time in the human world.] There are more people here than there were at the motel. It's a bigger area, too.
[does that mean they're going to be here for longer... ugh.]/small>
no subject
Well, I doubt this is a tournament of any kind considering the lack of arena, among other things. [This doesn't mean it isn't a murdergame, very funny.] I assume you figured out the conditions of your... capture?
Someone brought you all there for a twisted game of entertainment? You had to complete a task? Would they bother trying again, only bigger, is my point.
[IT'S LITERALLY JUST A CUTE PLACE TO HANG OUT WITH EVERYONE, GUYS.]
no subject
[but you could probably commit all kinds of murder with these rides
yukina refuses to think on that much more, actually.]
I don't think that they would try again. Things came to a very definitive end before we left... We were supposed to be free to go.
no subject
Then perhaps it's a waypoint, and I am simply here to collect you.
[He isn't being optimistic! Just practical. He doesn't care if he's in a weird death game, or whatever, trapped. He does not want Yukina to be (again apparently), though.]
Unless it's a trick to make us complacent.
[He ruined it.]
no subject
[but... here they are, anyway, in a new and unfamiliar place.]
...but I suppose...
[her voice trails off and she looks down at her hands.]
It is possible... that we were lied to, about being free.
no subject
He does the Ookunikara thing of feeling bad but being too emotionally constipated to figure out how to handle the upset in someone else, so he glances away with his eyes. If he doesn’t look at it, he can’t see her be sad.]
It might not be much consolation to you, but I’m here, so you can forget about it. I’ll take you back to the Human World.
no subject
[well, he's looking away, so he might be surprised when she reaches over to put a hand on his arm.]
What do you mean, it might not be much consolation? The fact that you're here makes me feel safe.
no subject
But it's Yukina, and he cares about her, so the telling thing is he doesn't even flinch when he looks back.]
You're a weird girl... but I already knew that from your taste in that redheaded fool.
[He always has to ruin it.]
no subject
Is there anyone you don't think is weird?
no subject
…
[He seems to consider this very, very briefly.]
No.
no subject
dating kelsey's ygo boys
anyway, that makes her giggle. she can't be offended when he thinks that of everyone.]
I see.
no subject
The giggle gets him to raise a single brow in question.]
What’s so funny?
[He truly would not care if it was anyone else. She really has him wrapped around a finger, and he won’t even tell her he is her brother.
Even though… she is not stupid at all… He will just not see. Not even with a third eye.]
no subject
[she smiles]
Things are usually described as "weird" when they differ from what is normal, aren't they? ...but for you, it sounds as though "weird" is "normal".
no subject
I regret asking.
[He regrets being seen. He doesn't even bother beckoning her; he knows she will follow when he promptly turns to start walking again.
It is hilariously leisure and slow, so she can start and keep up. He's stupid.]
no subject
wow, she doesn't even have to hurry after him. she can just walk at a normal pace. he really is much nicer than he likes to act.
after a little while, she's distracted by a store selling disney ears.]
Oh, how cute!
no subject
He glances at her, then follows her line of sight to the store with the ears. God… He again shifts his eyes back at her.]
I assume you want to look at them. Go ahead.
[He makes it sound like he will be staying outside, but he will actually follow her.]
no subject
hmm. maybe she can bring some of these back for the others. does hiei already have his pair of ears or can i make yukina pick some out for them? i don't remember and i'm too lazy to parent up and find out.]
What do you think? Do you think these might make good souvenirs?
[she doesn't even look back to see if he followed her in she's just assuming he did.]
no subject
Have at it.
Also, yeah, she is right. He has wandered in right behind her to stop and survey the ears.]
I don’t understand the purpose of these accessories, but I suppose they could be a… souvenir. Do you really want one from here…?
no subject
[yukina picks up his (parents up finally) hot topic ears and puts them on his head, then steps back to examine how they look.
she looks delighted.]
no subject
Only his eyes lift, very slowly, to look up toward the top of his head. He can't see them, but that isn't exactly the point.]
I don't recall saying I would join this endeavor.
