Jingle Mingle...2

Some of you may be used to this by now. For some of you, this may be your very first time being swept away in a flurry of snowflakes. (Though some of you may have been particularly naughty and were shoved into a burlap sack before disappearing into the storm.) As usual, it seems as though the time for bloodshed has passed and when you open your eyes you're greeted with...

...a ski lodge.

Worry not! This isn't the lodge Krampus had taken residence in but it's a rather large and cozy getaway. You may even find that your clothes have changed into something holiday-appropriate for the occasion. It seems as though someone has gone around decking the halls with boughs of holly, lights strewn along the walls, Christmas trees in large corners, and plenty of food and drink to go around. (Yes, this includes alcohol. Please do try to be responsible though, hm?)

Similarly, some of you may recognize the frosty patterns that lightly dust the walls and surfaces and the usual staff and their assistants are back in action. Should you require anything, you may ask one of them and they'll be at your service!

The lodge has plenty of rooms filled with furniture, fireplaces, games and more. And for those of you feeling a little more adventurous, you may venture outdoors. To the left there's a sprawling garden with gazebos, firepits, flowers and lit topiary displays. To the right, you may follow the path down to a hot spring. And straight ahead? There's the path leading you right to a rental shack holding skis, snowboards and snow mobiles.

This almost seems...quaint, doesn't it? And perhaps it's a little too easy, but you should know by now everything comes with a price.

Sprigs of mistletoe are pinned up in every doorway once again, bright red bows and dustings of frost lingering around them. Don't try to escape to the outdoors to avoid it! Ice sculptures appear in every direction each decorated with the mystical plant. You could try to avoid it, really, but avoiding it too long will earn a chilly breath of air directly in your ear as you're pushed straight into the nearest person. Wouldn't you rather choose on your own?

Well! The choice is yours, and you might want to make it fast. There's no way out without paying the kiss tax, after all.

[ Why has he found himself who knows where again. Why is there mistletoe...

but hey there's free food so you know, sure. Find Akira glaring at all of this or enjoying the food while trying to dodge the mistletoe. There's a black panther at his side too who is way more curious about everyone, though that might be a bit alarming considering well, panther. ]

The hell&mdash? [ +1 Santa hat acquired! He looks a mix of confused and deadpan with a minor sprinkling of annoyance. ]

[ bertolt is just at akira's side as he's loading up a plate. he's blissfully unaware of any and all mistletoe and seems more excited about this surprise vacation.

the giraffe keeps nudging his hand, trying to get him to get other types of food ]

If they're gonna take us the hell away again, yeah, there should be. [ He...is just a pessimist, sorry bertl. But he's settled down some at least and the company helps. ]

Wonder if there's fried chicken. [ This is the most he knows about xmas. In the meantime, he offers Idi a strawberry. ]

[perspire]

It's the least they can do, all things considered. [ It's fine, Bertl still likes him anyway. ]

That's... you eat that on Christmas, right? [ he's still learning, but he's seen enough around that apparently fried chicken is the christmas meal.

and that's all he knows.

idi does bend down to eat the strawberry from his hand, happy to be fed. bertl takes a piece of meat and offers it to nagako in turn ]

That's what all the commercials are for, I think? [ They're the only thing he notices??? What romantic holiday. Nagako is also thrilled, giving Bertl's hand a lick when she's done.

Akira is still not looking in this particular direction, thanks. ]

At least the ones I've seen. [ Even with more channels to watch, Bertl still doesn't watch too much TV. He knows as much as Akira does. But when Nagako is done licking his hand, he is reaching to rub her head. ]

There's a lot more people here than before, huh?

[ She is all here for pets, yes. ]

...yeah, but that's how parties usually are. I don't get all the plants, though.

Just an easy decoration?

[ should he use his height to get a closer look? he's feeling a little brave ]

Is there even anything special about them? [ He is craning his neck upward but he is the shorter one in this relationship and like no where else, so he looks at Bertolt. ]

[perspire]

They seem normal...?

[ he reaches up to poke one and nothing seems to happen, so he shrugs ]

We shouldn't worry about it. [ famous last words ]

[bloodread]

[ Well he trusts him so clearly this is fine. Akira shrugs. ]

Let's get somewhere with more room for 'em. [ He gestures at Nagako and Idi because houses were not meant to harbor the savanna. He leaves the room but not before grabbing another meat skewer, though he doesn't get too far.

This next room has more plants??? wtf. ]

[ nods as he grabs a plate with veggies and meat for the animals.

and he stops once he sees all the plants ] So... maybe we should worry?

[ guess who is also being very good about avoiding mistletoe while enjoying the free food. or, well, cheating the system by having her daemon grab a
snack or two. ]

You've never been to a Christmas party before?

...I don't really go to parties, period.

Did you at least have some sort of "celebration" when you went home?

I barely remember it, so hell yeah.
