Spring is in the air, or at least it is here. Regardless of where you may have been before, you'll hear the the sound of jaunty music playing ahead of you as you step into the sun.
Welcome...to the happiest place on Earth.
Everywhere around you seems to brighten and reach out to you, the sight of large, colorful structures and flashing lights, the sound of playful music and people laughing, the scent of delicious sweet and savory treats and the sudden weight in your pocket of a cell phone. Opening it, you'll find a special message:
To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Here age relives fond memories of the past, and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future.
Be sure to @ mmc to connect with others as you leave today and enter the world of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy.
You will find what appears to be a forum available to you filled with names you may or may not recognize. Try putting a message out there and seeing who responds!
For those of you who are more hands on, the world is your oyster and the park is your playground. The lines to wait for the rides are fairly short, and all around you there's plenty of shops and kiosks for food, drinks, and souvenears. Didn't bring any money? That's alright. It seems that everything is free for today and today only! (And yes, that includes the alcohol at various establishments.)
Unlike the Christmas party some of you may have attended last winter, it seems there isn't any sort of pranking or tomfoolery happening in the park today. There are several lands to explore, along with several other parks and attractions attached. You may not have to kiss someone in order to leave...
...but it does seem as though the gates are locked for the next several hours. On occasion, you may feel a pair of ghostly hands push you forward toward that ride you're hesitating to board or tempting you with a sugary-sweet churro. You may find that taking a loop on It's a Small World will leave the song stuck in your head for several hours while riding something like Space Mountain will leave you feeling more bold than usual. Perhaps a little bit of faith, trust and pixie dust will set you free? Oh well. All you can do now is relax, have fun, and wait for the fireworks spectacular to signal the end of the evening.
[ooc: it's once again mgcu mingle time, but there's a twist! this mingle is open to characters from the following:
however. you may also bring special guests in the form of characters you considered playing in previous games or characters you are anticipating playing in the future. have fun mingling with strangers!]

You aren’t alone if I’m here.
[THIS ISNT EVEN A CONSOLATION; WHO EVEN WANTS HIEI’S COMPANY?
He blips from existence as he leaps down from the lamp post to the ground near her. Fast boy. He still has his hands in his pockets like garbage.]
And if we’re here, that idiot, the detective, and Kurama aren’t ever very far. It doesn’t feel like the Demon World or the Spirit World at least.
no subject
That's true.
[she smiles, completely unbothered as he just blips out of existence and reappears next to her.]
...but you're right, it doesn't feel like either of them. It's simply a little strange to find ourselves here unexpectedly.
no subject
He glances around, then at her, then at the dole whip. Why does his nose wrinkle?]
Does it? As much trouble as the detective gets us into, I am somehow not as shocked as I should be.
But it is curious, this place of all places.
no subject
[she takes another bite of the dole whip. if it offends him, she'll remove it from his sight.]
It looks like some sort of... amusement park?
no subject
I don't understand what's so amusing about it. [Dry. Drier than alcohol.] What reason to we have to be here?
[His eyes slowly slide back to her.]
Is there a reason you were under the impression you were here alone?
no subject
[
she is definitely not telling him it's because the last time she found herself in a new place unexpectedly it was because she was in a murdergame and had no castmates. nope! definitely not! luckily, no one else from yuggoth is here to blow her cover.]
I'm reassured to have you here, though, Hiei-san.
no subject
A far cry from keeping humans out of the Demon World. Though I suppose I'd never hear the end of that imbecile and the detective's squabbling if I let you wander alone. [He wouldn't let her walk around by herself anyway. Idiot.] Come along then.
Perhaps we can find a method of escape.
no subject
The gates by the entrance were locked, but perhaps there is some sort of back way...?
[or like
maybe hiei could just hop the fence]
no subject
[funny
he has stupidly already tried
Good thing no one was there to watch him get bounced back.]
no subject
I see... that's troubling.
[are they in another murdergame? should she be acting like this is an intro mingle? hm.]
...are we meant to wait it out?
no subject
Hnph. Why? To "relive fond memories of the past"? Sorry, but I don't have those. This isn't how I had planned to spend my day. [He hates this.] The others I've watched [why is he so weird literally talk to people] here don't appear to be demons.
Mostly humans, but some are not.
no subject
anyway. yukina's brow furrows a little - no fond memories of the past? she can relate to that in a sense. her fondest memories are the more recent ones, almost everything from the tarukane days and before suck.
still, she'd hope that hiei has some good memories in his past. maybe the ones with his friends? ...even though he wouldn't really call them his friends, huh.]
Yes, there are some who are... quite obviously not human.
[...]
Perhaps rather than reliving memories, we ought to make new ones. You and I are here now, aren't we? It will be nice to spend some time together.
[yusuke and kuwabara aren't here to annoy him! that will be nice. maybe.]
no subject
No, stop, do not perceive too deeply into what he has said. This is exactly the reason why he sort of gets a very thin and mildly annoyed expression about spending time together.
The entire point is the wall he has put up to allow her the chance to be happy without any ties to their pasts. The promise he easily made because the desire was already there from the start.]
There are plenty of more congenial people around for you to befriend for better company, I’m sure.
[He may be arrogant in his physical prowess, but he can absolutely self dunk on his social one.]
no subject
Well... perhaps it is true that there are friendlier people around. [DON'T JUST AGREE WITH HIM? even though it's an objective fact that hiei is not exactly the friendliest person in this theme park. not by a long shot.] But they are not you, Hiei-san. And I would not say that they would necessarily make for better company.
[looking around... there aren't any obvious exits here, but then, if they were that obvious, they would probably have been out of here ages ago.]
no subject
He offers a noncommittal "mm" of noise from his throat. So many other people would make for better company for her, even that neanderthal Kuwabara.]
Finish your food, and we'll look around.
no subject
she could always wander off with qi rong, if i felt inclined to thread with myself, which i don't.]
Alright. [luckily, she doesn't have too much dole whip left, so she finishes it off and throws it away (no littering!), then looks to hiei.] Where would you like to go first?
no subject
Very few times is he ever a patient person, but this is one of those few times. With her, he waits until she's finished with the treat before he starts... just walking. He doesn't walk too fast so she can keep up.]
Perhaps a place that will be the least troublesome to "make memories," as you claim.
no subject
Hmm... somewhere less filled with people, then?
no subject
It's almost like you know me.
[WHAT A SURPRISE. He does not clarify this, but it sounds very dry and sarcastic like usual, so it's probably a joke. A ""joke.""]
Have you spoken to anyone else?
no subject
yukina shakes her head]
No, not really... I was looking around and getting an idea of what sort of people are here.
[she was being careful! ...perhaps more careful than she would be if not for having gone through a murdergame already, but y'know, it's fine.]
What about you?
no subject
[Will he please just give normal compliments even to his sister. Begging.]
A few made an attempt to bother me. One who smelled like he had been dipped in the Spirit World; he could turn into a raven. A woman who seemed to be some sort of fox demon. [And just as annoying.] A peculiarly tall man with purple hair.
None of them were human to be sure.
no subject
...I see...
[hmm. she looks a little thoughtful at that. a handful of people who seem to be inhuman, but a lot of humans, too. which... sounds similar to the makeup of the cast in yuggoth, actually. this might actually be another murdergame.
her brow furrows.]
And none of them seemed to know what was going on here either, I assume?
no subject
He's really out here giving her a complex without realizing it. Well, another complex.]
No, they didn't. But they also didn't seem unaccustomed to traversing worlds.
no subject
[even worse, because yukina isn't unaccustomed to waking up in an entirely new world either.]
Then... this has happened to them before? [a pause, and then, cautiously - ] ...has it happened to you before? Outside of traversing the three worlds we're familiar with, I mean.
no subject
He turns his head just enough to slide his sharp eyes sidelong at her.] What, being pulled suddenly away from wherever I was to a place I've never been? [He's watching her.] No, not like this.
Have you?
